Dear Maker,

We are happy to let you know that your proposal for Maker Faire, Educators' Maker Faire, has been accepted. We're looking forward to having you participate in Maker Faire Austin 2008! I'd like to explain the process leading up to the Maker Faire.

First of all, save the dates October 18 and 19th! You should also consider being available on October 17th for setup and a special Maker Dinner.

Second, download The Maker Manual, which will help you prepare for the Maker Faire and answer many questions. You can find the Maker Manual at <http://www.makezine.com/go/makermanual>.

Third, begin to prepare your exhibit. We will provide a standard setup, which includes a standard banquet table and two chairs. If you need something different, and you indicated so in your entry, we will contact you to confirm these details. We will also provide a sign for your exhibit. I encourage you to think about ways to design your exhibit and make it interactive and fun. Please note that this year we will be going into the evening on Saturday so that we can have some fire and music performances.

Fourth, we will send you a separate email with a link to our participation agreement by September 20th. This

agreement is also included in the Maker Manual and indicates that you've read the Maker Manual and that we've agreed on the specifics of your exhibit (important if they are non-standard). This agreement is also a confirmation that we can count on your participation.

Safety Plans: Help us produce a fun and safe environment for all. If your exhibit requires Fire Marshall Approval (you know who you are), please submit the safety plan for your exhibit by September 29th, via email to Louise Glasgow at louiseg@oreilly.com. If you have questions regarding this, please contact Louise.

Here's the preliminary Maker Faire schedule so you can plan ahead:

Friday, October 17 - Set Up: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday, October 17 - Maker Dinner: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday October 18 - Maker Faire: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday, October 19 - Maker Faire: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday, October 19 - Break Down: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Spread the News! We've created some Maker Faire graphics that you can use on your website/email signatures to let people know about your appearance. We appreciate any efforts on your part to promote Maker Faire to friends, family, and coworkers. You will find these graphics at <http://makerfaire.com/webbadges/>

Our goal is to make the Maker Faire a truly unique, educational, and extraordinary experience for everyone. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you at Maker Faire.

Dale
